Petaluma California City Council Votes to Restrict Small Cell Installations to 500 Feet from Homes
On July 16, 2016, Petaluma City Council California took the following actions regarding Small Cells AKA “Close Proximity Microwave Radiation Antenna – Wireless Telecommunications Facilities” (CPMRA-WTFs):
1. Prohibited small cell CPMRA-WTF installation on city-owned light poles and other city-owned street furniture.
2. Allowedsmall cell CPMRA-WTFs on electrical utility poles only in mixed use, commercial and industrial zones — not in residential zones.
3. Established a 500-foot setback from small cell CPMRA-WTFs to any residence.
4. Set a 1,500 foot setback between any two small cell CPMRA-WTFs — from any Wireless Carrier.
